Any member who is deemed to have made a meritorious contribution to the advancement of the objectives of the Academy may be considered for the status of Fellow. Consideration has been given to the period of time of their scientific contribution and also service to the Academy. No one who has been a member for less than two years has ever been selected.
In accordance with the By-Laws of the Academy, the Board of Directors each year appoints a committee of three Fellows for the purpose of nominating new Fellows. Such nominations are then to be mailed to all existing Fellows for approval or disapproval; three adverse votes constitute a veto. The accepted names, with citations of qualifications are to be presented at the April meeting of the Board of Directors for consideration for acceptance and granting of the Degree of Fellow.
